The Georgia Tech Summer Institute is a state-wide, summer residential program on the Atlanta campus designed to identify, engage, and prepare talented rising 11th graders in making the successful transition to college while increasing their exposure to STEM majors and careers. Based on the Governor's Honors Program and Georgia Tech's First-Generation College Institute, our goal is to attract talented students from socio-economic backgrounds who may not otherwise have access to programs of this type.
The residential program, which takes place June 22-26, 2026, includes opportunities for participants to:
- Learn about financial aid and scholarships.
- Navigate college life.
- Participate in hands-on STEM learning sessions.
- Connect with Georgia Tech students, faculty, and staff.
- Engage in team- and community-building activities.
This initiative aligns with the Institute's strategic goal of "Expanding Access" by developing talent across Georgia with a focus on preparing and engaging K-12 students in rural and under-resourced communities. The Georgia Tech Summer Institute is hosted by Expanded Learning Programs in the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) along with support from Georgia Tech’s Office of Strategic Student Access and support from Georgia Tech’s Colleges.
