Summer 2024 Position

The Georgia Tech Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) in partnership with Horizons Atlanta is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced Technology Teacher with a dynamic talent of creating and nurturing a lifelong love of knowledge in children. Ideally, candidates will have a minimum of three years of teaching experience. We are looking for a professional and caring individual with the ability to implement strategies to engage students in active learning through non-traditional, hands-on, and project-based learning in our six-week summer enrichment program. Teachers must work as team players to help fulfill the Horizons mission. The candidate will work with students in grades first through nine grade.

General Description:

  • Teaches weekly technology classes to students during a six-week summer enrichment program.
  • Teaches coding and programming to K-12 students.
  • Coordinates relationship between Horizons curriculum and technology skills.
  • Selects and maintains appropriate digital resources for teachers and students.
  • Assists with effective professional development in regards to technology integration in the classroom.
  • The technology teacher will work in partnership with Horizons lead teachers, teaching assistants and volunteers in the classroom to provide support and guidance in the areas of instructional technology.
  • Attend field trips, participate in daily meals (breakfast & lunch) with the students, supervise bus duty, attend faculty meetings as well as all other duties that may be required.
  • Teachers are required to attend pre-training and orientation session prior to the start of the program.
Stipend

$6,000 for pre-training, orientation, six-week program, and post planning
