I. Summer P.E.A.K.S. – In-Person Program
- How much does it cost to attend?
- All programs are priced starting at $550 for 5-Day programs/$440 for 4-Day programs unless otherwise noted. Additional supplies and materials may also be required that are not included in the registration fee.
- Are Scholarships available?
- Yes, please visit the Summer Scholarship page for more information.
- What if I need to cancel/request a refund?
- Requests for refunds have to be submitted one month before the start date of the program to be considered. No refunds are available unless we are able to fill the spot. Unless otherwise noted during registration, a full refund minus a 5% processing fee will be considered if someone on the waitlist is available to take your spot.
- If a refund request is submitted within 30 days of the start date of a program, a refund will be considered only for family emergencies, serious health issues, and illnesses. Documentation must be provided. Verification must be received no later than 15 days after the program start date. A credit will be issued for the full cost of the program, if approved. The credit must be used within one year of the date of the credit being issued.
- Please note that credits or refunds are not guaranteed. All requests will be reviewed, and a representative from the CEISMC Expanded Learning Program Team will contact you regarding the outcome of your request.

- What is the waitlist?
- Our registration system will automatically generate a waitlist when a program is full. If there is availability within the program, the registration system automatically sends an email to the participant at the top of the waitlist.
- When is payment due?
- Payment is due when you register. Registration is not complete without payment, and unfortunately, cannot be processed until we receive payment.
- How do I register for Summer P.E.A.K.S. Workshop?
- Registrations for Summer P.E.A.K.S. are first come - first serve based. Enrollment is not guaranteed until full payment has been received. A spot in the workshop is not reserved until the fee has been paid.
- Navigate to our registration site. If you do not already have an account, you will need to create one. Once your account is created, select the "Start a New Registration" option from the homepage. Follow the steps to register your child and input their information into the system.
- What if I want to have my child attend more than one program?
- Once you have begun the registration/enrollment process, you will be prompted to select a week or weeks on the "Registration Details" tab. Each program selected will create a new tab with a list of available programs. The price, time, and description of each program will be listed. Select the weeks you want, and select the program within each week. All selections will be added to the column on the far right.
- What if I want to have more than one child register for programs?
- Once you have an account, select the "Start a New Registration" option. Select "My child or dependent." You will then have the option to add a new child or dependent.
- Where do summer programs meet?
- All Summer P.E.A.K.S. programs meet at the Georgia Tech campus at various locations. Parents will receive a Family Guide with all pertinent information at least 2 weeks prior to the program start date.
- Could a summer program be canceled?
- While unlikely, CEISMC reserves the right to cancel a program at any time for any reason. If this should happen, a full refund would be issued. CEISMC also reserves the right to remove students during the program week for a number of reasons, which we will disclose in your acceptance email. Refunds for student misconduct or rule violations will not be offered.
- Does my student need to bring anything?
- Your student will be provided with lunch and all materials and supplies needed for success with all projects and activities. If students bring their own lunches, we do not refrigerate lunches. Also, students will not have access to a microwave. Please, no soda, candy, or gum. No personal electronics are allowed, including e-readers, DS, cameras, tablets, and iPads. CEISMC cannot be responsible for these devices.
- How are students grouped?
- Students are grouped by grade bands unless otherwise noted. We strive to maintain the integrity of our grade bands to ensure we are meeting our safety requirements as well as grade level appropriateness of sessions and activities.

- Who are the program instructors?
- Programs are taught by a mixture of Georgia Tech faculty/staff, Georgia Tech students, and area science, technology, engineering, arts, and math teachers.
- How do I get updates?
- We announce updates and important information on our website and newsletter. Click here to subscribe to our newsletter.
- Some information will also be sent via email. EMAIL IS OUR PRIMARY MEANS OF COMMUNICATION.
- It is of the utmost importance that the guardian email address you provide us on your registration is spelled correctly and checked often.
- Can students with disabilities attend your programs?
- Students with disabilities are welcome in our programs. Please let us know how to best support your student in succeeding in the programs via email, the online program registration form, or direct contact with program staff. Your privacy is important to us, and student information will only be shared with staff working with your student.
- Do I need a teacher's recommendation?
- Teacher recommendations are not required to attend Summer P.E.A.K.S.
- If I go to one week, can I go to more sessions?
- Yes! Every week is different. See the list of programs above or on the registration website.
- What about lunch? Food allergies?
- Students will be provided a healthy lunch that will give them the energy they need to participate in Summer P.E.A.K.S. Please use our registration form to let us know about dietary needs, food allergies, and any other special needs your student may have. We do our best to accommodate most food allergies, but families may need to pack personal lunches for those with severe allergies. Students are not permitted to share/trade lunches due to food allergies.
- What if my student has other special circumstances or needs?
- Please let us know how we can help using our registration form.
- What about photography?
- Unless you tell us differently, CEISMC may use photographs of your student in our materials.
- What about the weather? Emergencies?
- While unlikely, weather and other natural and emergency situations may occur beyond the program's control. If a partial program cancellation is required, no refund will be offered. An example would be a rainy-day early dismissal or late start time to accommodate safe traveling of staff, students, and their families. Any short-term unforeseen weather or other emergencies will not be able to be refunded partially in any form.
II. STEAM Whistle Workshops – Virtual Program
- How much does it cost to attend?
- Program registration fees start at $225 unless otherwise noted. Additional supplies and materials may also be required that are not included in the registration fee.
- Are Scholarships available?
- Not at this time for virtual programming.
- What if I need to cancel/request a refund?
- Unless otherwise noted, full refunds minus a 5% processing fee will be considered if someone on the waitlist is available to take your spot. No refunds are available unless we are able to fill the spot. Exceptions are provided for family emergencies or serious health issues with documentation.

- Where do STEAM Whistle Workshop summer programs meet?
- All programs will meet virtually through online video conferencing and other collaboration tools. Specific details on how to access these services will be included in the parent packet.
- Does my student need to have anything with them while attending a program?
- A list of all materials and supplies needed for success with all projects and activities is included within the registration website and will be included in the parent packet. All workshops require a computer/laptop along with internet connection.
- How are students grouped?
- Students are grouped by grade bands.
- Who are the program instructors?
- Programs are taught by a mixture of Georgia Tech faculty/staff, Georgia Tech students, STEAM teachers, and STEAM professionals.
- Can a student with disabilities attend STEAM Whistle Workshop?
- Students with disabilities are welcome in our programs. Please let us know how to best support your student to be successful in the programs either via email, online program registration form or schedule a meeting with a member of our staff. Your privacy is important to us and student information will only be shared with staff working with your student.
- Do I need a teacher recommendation?
- Teacher recommendations are not required to attend CEISMC programs.

CEISMC also reserves the right to remove students during the program week for violating the Code of Conduct described during registration as well as in the program guide emailed to parents after registration.

- Registrations for STEAM Whistle Workshops are first come - first serve based. Enrollment is not guaranteed until full payment has been received. A spot in the workshop is not reserved until the fee has been paid.

- We send updates, application status, payment deadlines, and important program information via email. EMAIL IS OUR PRIMARY MEANS OF COMMUNICATION. It is of the utmost importance that the parent email address you provide us on your registration is spelled correctly and checked often.
- Are online workshops recorded?
- Please be aware that by entering our online workshops you agree to be recorded. Your image maybe used for any purpose by CEISMC as outlined in the photo wavier in registration. Please know that you release CEISMC and its partners from any liability resulting from such usage. If you DO NOT wish to be subject to being recorded, please disable video for online workshops. *Unfortunately, we are unable to share recorded workshops due to youth privacy policy.
